Monat is a rapidly growing haircare company that sells haircare products. Because Monat using MLM (multi-level marketing) to sell their haircare products, you’ve probably seen at least one or two Facebook friends promoting this natural haircare brand. And you’ve probably also noticed that it’s expensive.
Some people claim that Monat causes hair loss, scalp sores, irritation, burning and other side effects… (Monat is actually sueing a lady who made those claims…)
If you want to up your hair game but don’t want to fork over the money for Monat, then fortunately, there are quite a few excellent Monat shampoo alternatives on the market.
Before I learned that there was a whole wide world full of shampoos out there (whodda thunk it, right?) I was a Head & Shoulders girl. My husband used to have dandruff and because we had such a small shower, I just used his shampoo.
Then I started experiencing postpartum hair loss, so I started experimenting with various shampoo brands. There were plenty of misses and a few hits, including the following, which are all excellent shampoo brands and provide a great, wallet-friendly alternative to Monat shampoo.
All-Natural Monat Shampoo Alternatives
If you suffer from thinning hair, postpartum hair loss, or just want thicker, fuller hair then Nioxin is the best option.
Nioxin is a complete, 3-step, professional thickening regimen that has won the Behind The Chair – Stylist’s Choice award for thinning hair for over 16 years.
There are 6 systems to choose from depending on whether your hair is color-treated, natural, in the first stages of thinning, advanced thinning, etc.
Additionally, Nioxin has some awesome products that give the appearance of fuller hair including their incredible hair thickening spray (I LOVE that stuff!)
If you’re trying to grow your hair longer, thicker and stronger, then you’ll love that this shampoo contains ingredients like cassava root, aloe vera, amino acids and vitamin b5, all of which provide nourishment to your hair and thicken hair fibers. Additionally, the orange peel oil in this shampoo makes it a good option for people with dandruff.
This shampoo contains no harmful chemicals, which means no parabens or sulfates. What it does contain is a range of natural botanicals that smell delicious and almost sound good enough to eat – ingredients like pumpkin seed, green tea, organic argan oil, nettle and caffeine. It also contains biotin and and keratin which help to stimulate hair growth.
This highly rated shampoo comes in a relatively nondescript bottle, but it’s packed full of natural ingredients that help to prevent hair breakage and promote growth. Castor oil, one of the ingredients in this shampoo, has long been lauded for it’s ability to promote strong, healthy hair. Other ingredients include biotin, caffeine and argan oil.
Important to remember…
Ultimately, the best shampoo for you is personal. Everyones hair is different and what works for one person might not work for someone else.
These shampoos are all highly rated, with Nioxin being my personal favorite. Having said that, I tried dozens of shampoos until I found what worked best for me, so if a particular brand doesn’t work for you, don’t give up.
Also, remember to give your hair a chance to adjust to a new shampoo formula, especially if you’ve been using the same brand for years.
